Fairfield County Fencing (Fencing Pro Corp, doing business as Fairfield County Fencing, "we") runs this website and the phone number TRACKING_NUMBER_PENDING. We are a booking desk: we take enquiries about fencing lessons and book each one with Tim Morehouse Fencing Club in New Canaan, which teaches them. This page explains what that means for your information.
What we collect
When you fill in the form: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, what you wrote in the message, which town you selected, the page you were on, and the time you submitted it. If you arrived from an advert or a link with tracking parameters, those are recorded too.
When you call TRACKING_NUMBER_PENDING: your phone number as presented by the network, the time and length of the call, the town or region your network reports, and, where calls are recorded, a recording of the call. Where call recording is in use you are told at the start of the call, before anything is recorded.
When you text TRACKING_NUMBER_PENDING: your phone number and the content of your messages, plus our replies.
When you browse: standard analytics about pages viewed and how you arrived, collected through Google Analytics. We do not use this to identify you by name.
We never ask for and do not want: payment card details, bank details, or a Social Security number. If a page or a text appears to ask you for any of those, it is not us. Payment for lessons happens directly between you and the club.
Why we collect it, and who gets it
The purpose is to answer you and get your lesson booked. Concretely:
- We use it to reply to you, by text first and by email if there is no phone number, and to ask the questions the club needs answered before a first lesson.
- We pass it to the club. Your name, contact details, town, and what you told us about the fencer: their age, any fencing before, and the days that could work. One club, nobody else. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone who is not teaching the lesson.
- We keep a record of the enquiry: what you said, when, how fast we replied, and what we handed over, so there is an accurate account of what happened.
- We may contact you up to three times if you go quiet after asking for help, and we stop the moment you reply anything at all. Reply STOP to any text and we stop permanently.
Service providers who process this on our behalf, meaning the telephone and messaging carrier, email, hosting, and the software that holds the enquiry record, see it only to provide that service and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
We will also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to deal with a safety emergency or a legal claim.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not pass your number to anyone but the club. We do not use what you told us about the fencer for anything other than booking the lesson.
How long we keep it
| Enquiry records (form, text, call details) | 24 months |
| Call recordings, where made | 90 days |
| Enquiries that failed to send and were held for retry | 90 days, then deleted automatically |
| Analytics | As configured in Google Analytics, default 14 months |
Ask us to delete your information sooner and we will, except where we are required to keep a record. See the next section.
Your choices
- Stop the texts: reply STOP to any message from TRACKING_NUMBER_PENDING. It is immediate and permanent.
- See what we hold, correct it, or have it deleted: email privacy@fairfieldcountyfencing.com or call TRACKING_NUMBER_PENDING and ask. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm you are the person the information is about.
- Ask us not to pass it on: tell us before we book the lesson. We cannot un-send a booking already given to the club; after that point, ask the club directly.
- Connecticut residents have rights under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of personal data, and to appeal a refusal. Use the same contact details. If we refuse a request we will tell you why and how to appeal.
Once your details are with the club, the club is responsible for what it does with them under its own policy.
Text messaging
If you check the text-message box on the form, you are agreeing to receive text messages from Fairfield County Fencing about your request. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or HELP for help. We do not share your mobile information or your text-messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Leaving the box unchecked does not affect your ability to call, text the number directly, or use the form; you can still reach us by phone.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people arrive on, including two events: submitting the form and tapping the phone number. Your browser's Do Not Track setting is respected where the analytics provider supports it. There are no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers beyond analytics on this site.
Measurement
We keep our own count of how these pages are used, on our own server, with no third-party script. Recorded: the page you were on, your device type (phone, tablet or desktop), the website you arrived from, the hour and weekday in your own time, which sections were on your screen and for how long, how far down you scrolled, which buttons and links you tapped, how long you stayed, and which form fields you filled in. Not recorded: your name, your phone number, your email address, anything you typed into the form, any cookie, and anything that could follow you to another website. Each visit gets a random number that lives only while the page is open and is never saved in your browser; the counts are deleted after 90 days. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, nothing at all is recorded.
Children
The lessons are for children from age five, but this site is for the adults who book them. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16; a parent or guardian books on a child's behalf, and the child's first name and age are the only details about the child we ask for.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
